Who can join IPUG and how many members are there?
Currently IPUG has approximately 80 member firms, with most of the major banks and investment houses with offices in the City of London represented, although member firms can be located anywhere globally. To be eligible for membership you should be a financial institution, (bank, insurance company, securities house, securities brokerage, fund manager, building society or similar), be of any size and use market data services. Suppliers of market data services, whether they are data vendors, technology solution providers or consultancy firms are not eligible for membership.

What does IPUG membership give me?
Corporate Membership entitles the prime contact and a defined number of delegates, nominated by the prime contact, participation in any of the following group meetings:

·  General Meetings: These are useful for all members but particularly for those unable to attend our special interest meetings, as they provide an update on recent activity and raise issues of general interest.

·  Special Interest Groups (SIGs): These are a number of Special Interest Groups including a Real Time SIG, Research SIG, Trading SIG, Reference Data SIG and a Buyside SIG.  Meetings can also be convened at the demand of the members focused on a particular subject or vendor. We call these Market SIGs which usually attract a specific subset of the total membership. The Special Interest Groups structure is one of the major benefits of IPUG membership.

Most meeting agendas include an open forum in which members may discuss issues relevant to that particular group, and it is quite common for a vendor to be invited to present to the attendees.

Other benefits of membership include:

Newsletter: A Newsletter is produced regularly which keeps members abreast of recent IPUG activity and other snippets of news that they may have missed.

Website: Our website provides you with access to a unique forum called "Ask IPUG". Here you will be able to ask a question to the membership at large and will obtain responses from those that are able to answer them. The public area of our website is updated regularly with industry news headlines and members can check for upcoming events on the diary page. There is a members-only area where meeting notes and presentation material is stored.

Networking: with Peers: Networking with your peers is an incredibly valuable benefit to becoming an IPUG member. Such opportunities are provided at the General or SIG meetings and specially organsised networking evenings throughout the year.

Access to the group: Members have direct access to the Executive Committee, who are senior members of the market data industry. Members are encouraged to network with other members during our meetings.

How much does it cost to join IPUG?

There are two Corporate Membership packages:

Membership for one firm at £500 per annum + VAT
